About Us

This site is gathering place for:

  • all men's groups in the Seattle, Greenwood and other communities that specifically serve mature men.
  • individual men who are not part of an organized group but who are looking for friendships with other men.

We are dedicated to creating an environment that:

  • fosters a strong sense of community,
  • promotes relationship-building,
  • encourages trust and communication,
  • supports physical well-being, and
  • facilitates personal growth among older men.

Organized groups dedicated to senior men that are free and are not therapy groups are rare in the Seattle area. Here are the ones we know about.

Greenwood Men's Group

The most prominent group that we know of that is not therapy-related is the Greenwood Men's Group. It consists of mature men who reside in the Greenwood and nearby areas.

The group originated in January 2020 at an informal meeting of nine men.  The general sense from the meeting was that "there was consensus that men need a community in which to grow relationships." It was decided to form a group to meet this challenge.

They offer a wide variety of activities designed to appeal to the varying interests of a diverse group.

The group started out with about a half dozen men and has gradually expanded to a present membership of about 60 men, aged 50-90+ years old.

Men's Breakfast Group

This group meets on the first Tuesday of every month for a friendly chat and chew at various restaurants in the Greenwood or nearby areas. They find out what's going on with the other guys, tell a wild story about their past, bring up a provocative topic of the day, or anything else that comes to mind.

Moody Bastards

Another men's group is the Moody Bastards. This group started in the 1980s in greater Seattle and King County. At one time they met weekly. They focused on discussing personal issues at great depth. They also had a number of outings such as rafting down the Missouri River and kayaking in Hawaii. They also drummed and participated in various native American rituals. Over time, the group geographically disbursed and a couple of members died. It currently only meets physically on rare occasions, although they do have monthly meetings over Zoom.  Membership in the group is by invitation only.

This Site Was Created to Provide More Connection Among Senior Men

We seek to encourage and strengthen a sense of community among men in the greater Seattle and it local communities such as Greenwood.

To some extent, we are "ships passing in the night".  This issue slows down the process of developing deep friendships.

We provide information and event ideas which help you find compatible connections.

Physical events are good but have become a bottleneck because you must travel to a location. This site represents a complementary way by which you can achieve some of your goals.  This is a place where you can find out what's going on, what guys are thinking about, get better acquainted with other men, and perhaps share something of yourself.
