Greenwood Men's Group -- Micro Groups

A micro group consists of men with a shared affinity for something that is beyond the regular meetings and events of the Greenwood men's group as a whole.

The Greenwood men's group has created or is thinking about creating these micro groups:

Why Have a Micro Group?

There are four reasons for the creation of micro groups:

  • As the size of the men's group has increased, some members have commented that it is harder spend sufficient time with other members in order to get to know them at a deeper level. That is, we are experiencing more relationships at a more superficial level rather than fewer relationships at a deeper level. Micro groups can solve this problem.
  • Not every member can regularly meet on Mondays at 2pm. Micro groups have the flexibility to meet on different days and different times.
  • Men's group events are centered mostly around discussions, pickleball and bocce ball. That leaves out a whole bunch of other activities that some members might enjoy. Micro groups can be formed around any activity, such as walking, socializing over coffee, whatever.
  • Members are somewhat geographically dispersed or have issues with transportation.  Micro groups could be organized around those who live close together.

If at least 3 individuals express an interest in a specific type of event or a preferred day and time, we'll find a way for those individuals to connect and organize their micro group.

Is there anything you can think of that you would like to do with some of the other members? It can be anything at all. Use your imagination! There are dozens of possibilities.

Tell the webmaster -- in as much detail as you like -- what you would like to do with other members.  If you wish, you can also include your address or ZIP code in case we find someone with a similar interest near you.

We pass responses to Alan C., who is responsible for creating micro groups.
