Davis Lamson, M.S., N.D. - Naturopathic Doctor

Dr Davis LamsonDr. Davis Lamson

Humans are designed fairly well, but with most medical problems something has malfunctioned to result in an undesirable situation.

While quick relief is desirable, finding the cause of a problem is more sensible than only treating symptoms. Sometimes this is complicated and can even result in research to solve a patient problem. As a result, Dr. Lamson has over 40 research publications in professional journals.

Dr. Lamson is familiar with many chronic problems, such as osteoarthritis, autoimmunity, infection control with immune stimulation, lung problems, diabetes, kidney failure, and gastroesophageal reflux. He also offers complementary medical support for those with cancer, having instructed it in a medical school for 17 years.

Atherosclerotic plaque in heart arteries is the chief reason for heart attack and the plaque is removable. So everyone is checked for the amount of artery plaque by a non-invasive in-office procedure – with usually a simple suggestion for plaque removal if necessary.

Dr. Lamson has received awards including the 2004 Alumnus of the Year by Bastyr University and the first Lifetime Achievement Award of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians in 2015.

In addition to general medical care and the aim of allover body improvement, Dr. Lamson offers the following specific services:

  • Digital Pulsewave Analysis – shows degree of atherosclerosis in arteries.
  • Pulmonary Function – determines state of and progress in asthma and COPD.
  • Food Allergy Determination – by immune antibody levels.
  • Therapeutic Ultrasound – for acute muscular discomfort
  • Identification of Low Intestinal Absorption of Nutrients.
  • Amount of calcium discharged in urine – a no-cost office test as estimation of bone loss.
  • Complementary Medical Assistance with Cancer – Those with a cancer concern should hear the details and reasons for engaging in this.

Education:

  • Bastyr University, Kenmore, WA: N.D.: Naturopathic Medicine 1982
  •  University of Illinois, Urbana, IL: ABD; Organic Chemistry 1967
  •  University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ: M.S.; Organic Chemistry 1962
  • University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC: B.S.; Chemistry 1956

Dr. Lamson has a practice at Seattle Healing Arts Center in Seattle.

Rhonda Patrick, Ph.D., Researcher and Co-Founder of FoundMyFitness

rhonda patrick

Rhonda Patrick earned her BS in biochemistry/ chemistry from the University of California, San Diego. She earned her PhD in biomedical science at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In her graduate work she investigated the link between mitochondrial metabolism, apoptosis, and cancer. She discovered a protein critical for cell survival which has two distinct mitochondrial locations with disparate functions. Her work linked the role of this protein in inhibiting apoptosis to a previously unrecognized role in mitochondrial respiration and maintenance of mitochondrial structure. Her dissertation findings were published in the 2012 issue of Nature Cell Biology

Dr. Patrick did her postdoctoral training at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute with Dr. Bruce Ames where she investigated the effects of micronutrient inadequacies on metabolism, inflammation, DNA damaging, and aging. She investigated whether supplementation can reverse such damage. Additionally, she studied the role of vitamin D in brain function, behavior, and other physiological functions.

Dr. Patrick. also spent time at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences where she investigated the role of insulin signaling in protein misfolding, a common characteristic of neurodegenerative disease. In 2012, she co-founded FoundMyFitness Science Podcast with the goal of encouraging the public to think about health and longevity using a proactive, preventative approach. [FoundMyFitness].
